Rendez-vous fransaskois 2024
Culture unveiled, a community celebration!
Rendez-vous fransaskois 2024
November 1, 2 and 3, 2024 in Saskatoon
Regina, Thursday, October 31st, 2024 – Saskatchewan’s francophone community is getting together this weekend for the 35th annual Rendez-vous fransaskois, which will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Saskatoon. The Rendez-vous fransaskois will offer three days of performances, workshops, discussions and presentations to recognize five decades of cultural development in the French language in Saskatchewan and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Conseil Culturel Fransaskois.
Participants will be invited to reflect on cultural development and look to the future. The theme “Culture unveiled, a community celebration!” is a reminder that artistic creation remains the best-known treasure of the Fransaskois community.
Friday, November 1st we will offer workshops on cultural appropriation, bead-inspired collage, and traditional dance. A reception and a musical presentation will launch the Rendez-vous fransaskois in the evening.
The morning of November 2nd will open with a public conversation with the broadcaster Radio-Canada, followed by a conference on cultural mediation. In the afternoon, three workshops will cover cultural economics and intergenerational dance, accompanied by a round table on becoming a cultural mediator. In the evening, a banquet and the gala event will be followed by a performance by the group Beausoleil, a Coup de cœur concert presented by the Conseil Culturel Fransaskois. The evening will also be marked by the admission of a new Compagnie des cents associés francophones member and the Prix du Lys d’Art presentation by the Conseil Culturel Fransaskois.
On Sunday morning, participants are invited to three new workshops: one on life stories, a second on the experience of artistic writing and a third on the expertise of creative audio.
We thank our primary partner the Conseil Culturel Fransaskois as well as our collaborators allowing us to present this event : the Société Radio-Canada, the Conseil des écoles fransaskoises, the Conseil économique et coopératif de la Saskatchewan, Collège Mathieu, the Société historique de la Saskatchewan, the Cité universitaire francophone, the Association jeunesse fransaskoise, and the Service d’accueil et d’inclusion francophone.
